Living Word Lutheran Church Buda - Sundays

Sunday Mornings

Worship is at the core of who we are as a community. Each Sunday morning we gather for worship at 9:30, to offer ourselves to God in song, prayer, and service; and to receive God's gifts of forgiveness, grace, and community. We consider worship to be "practice" for how we live our lives each day: we share food, we pray for one another, we greet one another, we serve one another, we offer peace to one another, we listen, we receive gifts and acknowledge God's presence among us, we share hopes and dreams and fears and concerns, and we are community for one another.

Our worship is a traditional liturgy with lively music provided by our band, using hymnals and bulletins. Holy communion is celebrated at every service, and nursery care for children 3 and under is available as well.

Biblical storytelling is a highlight of our worship. Our team of storytellers learns scripture by heart, presenting the sacred story during worship for the lessons of the day or the entire sermon. Biblical storytelling is a way for both the teller and the listener to engage scripture in a deep and meaningful and memorable way.  We also provide Story Time for all children every Wednesday at 10:00 am.

After service there is Sunday school for children: a class for 3-4-5 year olds, and a class for elementary students. An adult Bible study is offered as well.

Our worship space is a barn--literally! At one time our humble sanctuary was a creamery for a dairy farm. The rustic feel is very comfortable, and the abundance of cement in the walls and floor give it amazing acoustics for music at worship. The driveway is gravel, the parking lot is pasture, the building is a barn--dress accordingly, and join us some Sunday!
