Join us at 7 pm on Monday, April 20th at 7 pm for socializing and snacks; drinks will be provided, please bring some snacks to share. Virginia and Carols will be hosting in Austin. The discussion begins at 8 pm on Zoom.
Remember even if you haven’t read the book or finished it, the discussions are always
relevant and good. We will be discussing The Dove Keepers by Alice Hoffman (April 3, 2012, 528 pages) Nearly two thousand years ago, nine hundred Jews held out for months against armies of Romans on Masada, a mountain in the Judean desert. According to the ancient historian Josephus, two women and five children survived. Based on this tragic and iconic event, Hoffman’s novel is a spellbinding tale of four extraordinarily bold, resourceful, and sensuous women, each of whom has come to Masada by a different path.
